Typically, after the third treatment, we should see a 60-75% reduction in pain. On average after 6-8 treatments*, we should have the maximum stem cell production that will continue to migrate and repair the tissue over the next 8-12 weeks. SoftWave is NOT ultrasound or electric stimulation! We are in a whole different category!

Producing highly effective shock waves that initiate biological regeneration processes at the cellular level!

SoftWaves are created by means of a high-energy electrical discharge in water. The voltage is discharged between the opposing tips (plus and minus pole) of an electrode. The arcing or spark gap causes an equalization of voltage between the two tips of the electrode whereby a hot plasma bubble is created. This bubble explodes in all directions, compresses the surrounding water, and generates a pressure > 10 MPa within only a few nanoseconds (10-9 ns).

SoftWave low intensity, broad focused energy is delivered via our patented parabolic reflector applicator in the form of parallel waves. SoftWave technology offers the BROAD FOCUSED SHOCK WAVE on the market. Despite this electrohydraulic shock wave energy in water traveling 5 times faster (3355mph) than in air (767 mph), it does not cause microtrauma.

• Shock waves are acoustic pulses with high positive pressure, fast and steep rise time followed by comparatively small negative pressure (tensile wave).

 

• Radial pressure waves are acoustic pneumatic pulses with a low steeping effect, slow rise time with comparatively large negative pressure (tensile wave). The waves are shallow and have the highest energy and pressure located directly at the applicator’s surface.

 

• Ultrasound waves are periodic oscillations with narrow bandwidth and does not have peak pressure and fast rise times.

1. Radial Pressure Wave (which is not a true shock wave) – Treats only superficial indications with a column of acoustic energy of 2 cm wide x 2 cm deep which is roughly the size of 5 nickels stacked on top of one another.
2. Radial pressure waves have their greatest energy at its source and weakens the farther it travels. Radial waves are generated by means of a pneumatic system. Using compressed air, a projectile is accelerated to a high-speed then suddenly decelerated by a transmitter, which is held to the area being treated. 
3. The pressure waves lose power the deeper they enter the body. 
4. SoftWave Therapy utilizes a patented parabolic reflector, which is unique from all other shock wave devices, in that it combines the proven efficiency of the electrohydraulic method of shock wave generation with an applicator (OP155) that delivers this energy with a broad focused dispersion pattern. There are a number of profound advantages to this design. 
5. The therapeutic energy zone is vastly larger in all dimensions (7cm wide x 12 cm deep similar in depth to a soup can) than that of other designs, allowing greater efficiency of treatment (fewer treatments necessary).
6. Unlike radial, SoftWave does not create or rely on micro traumas for mechanism of action. Instead, it non-traumatically causes cells to shed microvesicles, which signals a healing cascade communication rapidly and safely. Radial devices break the skin which is unnecessary.
